Flowers
The flowers are large glossy pink to rich purple , with bright green stamens. narrow at the tips of the stems, up to 5cm in diameter.

Short, very dense, erect, thin, needle-like of a pure white colour.

Stem
Dark green up to 12 cm tall, 4 cm in diameter. The stems are totally covered with soft snow white spines.
