The variety was named after the colour of its flowers, aureiflorus means golden-yellow blossoming.

Flowers
about 30 mm long and 40 mm wide, yellow to two-colored (yellow and orange red). Tepals wholly yellow or yellow at the base and orange to red at the end, range of orange-red parts very variable.Flower tube pink with green or brown scales, inside purple pink. Filaments base red, top yellow. Anthers yellowish. Stigma greenish, stigma-lobes 5-7 white.

10-12, only radial, 3-5 mm long, straight to bent, appressed, white to yellow, base brown and somewhat bulging.
