Fibrous roots.

Flowers

Bell-shaped, silky white with a bright pink mid-strip 2,5 to 4,5 cm. long and 3 to 4 cm. in diameter.

Spines

Yellowish brown turning pinkish-grey as they age.

Ribs

Usually 10 but varying from 9 to17 with distinct chin-like projections.

Stem

Flattened or ball-shaped, dark green, 7-12 cm. in diameter, 5-7 cm. tall.

Radial Spines

9-11 slightly curved or protruding up to 2,5 cm. long.

Fruits

Dark green, flattened spherical and up to 4 cm long.
