Description
Etymology: named after the Bolivian province of Yungas where it is found.
The genus Yungasocereus is comprised of a single species. The plants are columnar shrubs or trees. Stems feature low rounded ribs with large fuzzy areoles that bear a few short spines. Flowers are white, thick funnels with numerous prominent stamens. Fruits are fleshy with scales.Yungasocereus is endemic to Bolivia and is very seldom grown in cultivation.
