Description
Etymology: Cereus coming from Brazil
Two species from Brazil make up this ceriod genus. Brasilicereus growth is columnar up to 13 feet (4m) in height. They may branch from the base or not branch. Ribs number from 8-13 with spines up to 1 1/2 inches (4cm) long. Areoles have some wool. Flowers are stout, greenish-white to white and around 2 1/2 inches long with scales. Fruits are green or purple and retain the spent flower.
