通常单生或从基部缓慢分枝，茎球形或圆柱形，棱疣大多被刺覆盖而难以看见。
花
深粉红色或粉紫色。
刺
中刺呈乳白色，随年龄增长会开裂。具有约20根玻璃状银灰色至灰白色的辐射刺。
