植株通常单生。茎狭圆柱形，高30 - 50厘米，直径达5厘米，腋部无毛但开花区密被绒毛。植株不含乳汁。
花
花不显著，黄绿色， barely rising above the spines（基本不超出刺外）。

20-25根，金黄色，略具短柔毛，长达10毫米
